Milledge and Joe conclude their conversation with Resolutionist, Rod Fallow the former owner of industrial equipment supply company, Swagelok Northern California. In part two, Rod shares the importance of engaging your resources, why he appreciates getting comfortable with the uncomfortable, and the reasons his wife is the perfect partner for his post-career life.
About Rod Fallow:
Until the sale of his company at the end of 2020, Rod Fallow was the Chairman, CEO and Owner of Swagelok Northern California. This company continues to provide highly engineered products and services to companies with critical gas and liquid applications in the semiconductor, solar, biotechnology, chemical and petrochemical, R&D, and aerospace industries. Key customers are Intel, Lam Research, Applied Materials, Chevron, NASA, Lawrence Livermore National Labs, Genentech, and many others. In 2015 his company was awarded the fifth ranked Best Places to Work in the San Francisco Bay area.
Mr. Fallow has enjoyed a long and diverse career with the Swagelok organization. In 1978 he started in sales while living in Canada. In 1986 he joined Swagelok Company in Ohio, a $2 Billion private company. Here Mr. Fallow gained international experience running manufacturing and distribution facilities in Canada, Switzerland, England, and Japan. From 1994 to 2001 he was responsible for global business development and marketing while serving as the Vice President of Marketing.
Mr. Fallow continues to be an active investor and board member in early-stage startups. In 2015 he was honored by the Living classroom – a non-profit children’s educational organization, for his contributions and support as a founding board member. In 2014 he and his wife founded a global initiative to Build Brighter Futures for tens of thousands of children through the Storywise Group.
Mr. Fallow attended the University of Alberta and graduated from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. He has been involved in high level sports, ranking nationally in swimming and water polo, and his Provincial water polo team won the Canadian championship; after which he was selected to join the Canadian national water polo team. He stays very active today including recently competing for Canada in the World Masters Aquatic championships held at Stanford. He is also quickly moving through his top 100 scuba diving sites around the world.
Rod was born in Canada and moved to the United States in 1986. He is married to Rebecca and together with their son and daughter, they live in Los Altos, California.
