Social isolation has been called one of the most significant health risks in older adults and costs roughly $6.7 billion annually, but Mari’s guest this week is tackling that issue digitally. Shruti Gurudanti is a lawyer, social entrepreneur, and co-founder of Televëda. Televëda helps senior care providers offer onsite and online interactive gaming, educational and workout classes that are designed to build friendships for older adults. In part one, Shruti talks about why she was inspired to build Televëda, the impact of social isolation, and the struggle of attracting early adopters.

She is also on the Board for Duet: Partners in Health & Aging, and on the Advisory Board for St. Vincent de Paul, advising them on “Angels on Call”, a unique digital engagement platform connecting donors and beneficiaries. Furthermore, she leads community development at Televeda.
