Dee welcomes Nathaniel Clark to the podcast this week. Nathaniel is the Managing Partner of CHASM Architecture in Atlanta, a company he founded in 2005 that has grown to become a topnotch, full-service design firm. In part one, Nathaniel talks about why good leaders must also be great followers, the reasons why he chose to pursue a career in architecture, and why longevity in business means everything.

As the Managing Partner of CHASM, Nathaniel has over 25 years of professional architectural experience designing complex projects in a wide variety of building types. His ability to lead and follow simultaneously provides ample room for professionals to grow under his careful watch. He promotes an open and diverse design culture where everyone, no matter their title, has value and opportunity to carry projects through the entire design process, including the pursuit of new clients.
Nathaniel graduated from Louisiana State University in 1996 as the first African American awarded the College of Art + Design Dean’s Medal. In addition, in 2003 Nathaniel became the first African American to become a partner in a majority-owned architectural firm in Louisiana history. In 2005 Nathaniel created CHASM and relocated to Atlanta where he and the firm have received numerous design awards and other accolades.
