Erik Anderson is David’s guest this week. Erik is the CEO of SIQ Basketball, the creator of the world’s first smart basketball approved by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) for gameplay. Erik started his career in venture capital, but now he’s combined his two greatest loves: Basketball and startups. About Erik Anderson: Erik is the CEO of SIQ Basketball and former venture capitalist with a passion for startups. The Los Angeles native began his career in venture capital at Techstars in London and later joined Tera Venture in Tallinn, Estonia. Erik has notably served as the U.S. access point for numerous European venture capital funds and startups, and was territorially covering the Nordics when he discovered and then invested into the Finnish startup, SIQ. In just over one year since transitioning from a board position at SIQ to Chief Executive Officer in early 2021, Erik is credited with bringing the product to market and, backed by investor interest and increasing product demand, announced last month a $3M fund raise to further accelerate growth and drive national expansion.”
