Aslaug Magnúsdóttir is an entrepreneur, investor and the CEO and Founder of Katla, a direct-to- consumer sustainable fashion brand.
Dubbed “the fairy godmother of fashion” by VOGUE, Magnúsdóttir has launched several ventures within the fashion and hospitality industries such as luxury e-commerce site Moda Operandi, fashion customization platform Tinker Tailor and retail investment company TSM Capital, as well as the Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas in Iceland.
Magnúsdóttir also served as a senior executive at Gilt Groupe, where she oversaw merchandising for top customers; as an Investment Director of a UK-based family office specializing in buyouts of retail chains; as an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Co; and a corporate attorney at Deloitte.
A Fulbright Scholar, Magnúsdóttir was the first Icelandic woman to receive an MBA from Harvard Business School. She also holds an LL.M from Duke University School of Law and an undergraduate degree in Law from the University of Iceland.
