Helium is the world’s first decentralized telecom network for IoT devices. It is a peer-to-peer-network built for the Internet of Things (IoT) and IoT devices. This week Joe speaks with Helium’s COO, Frank Mong, about the Helium Hotspot, a wireless consumer-owned device that in tandem with nearby hotspots, acts as the backbone of the world’s first peer-to-peer wireless network, “The People’s Network.”
About Frank Mong:
Frank Mong is COO at Helium. In this role, he is responsible for sales, marketing and business development for the company. Prior to Helium, Mong was senior vice president of product, industry and solutions marketing for Palo Alto Networks where he was responsible for directing product marketing, industry (vertical) marketing and overall solutions (platform) marketing for the company’s entire portfolio.
An industry veteran with nearly 20 years of security, networking and software experience, Mong joined Palo Alto Networks from HP, where he served as vice president and general manager of solutions for the HP Enterprise Security Products organization. Contributing to the building the company’s security market position, Mong was responsible for the development and growth of the marketing organization, positioning in the Global 2000, and leadership in the security platform market with an ecosystem of 350+ partners.
Prior to HP, Mong served as the head of Business Development at Silver Spring Networks, where he helped the company raise its mezzanine funding prior to IPO. He has also previously served as vice president of Marketing at Trend Micro and senior leadership positions at Symantec and SonicWALL.
