Episode Information

Gretchen Rubin once wrote, “The days are long, but the years are short.” And she couldn’t be more right, it’s hard to believe it’s almost tax season again. And this week, Joe is joined by a CPA that is one of the foremost authorities on domestic and international tax planning and mitigation. His name is Charlie Dombek CPA MBA, and he is the President & Chief Client Officer at KeyCity Capital. Charlie talks about how his father convinced him to go to college, why he got into the movie business, and how he transformed himself from a tax planner into a ‘wealth architect’.

About Charlie Dombek: Charlie is a managing partner at KeyCity Capital, serving as the President and Chief Client Officer. He helps clients recover dollars they unnecessarily pay in state and federal income taxes, manages the firm’s asset-backed lending platform, and is responsible for raising capital for the firm’s real estate and alternative investment funds.

As a wealth architect at Key City Capital, Charlie focuses on the two critical factors that determine how much and how fast clients accumulate wealth: 1) How much clients pay in taxes and 2) How well their investments perform. Charlie is a wealth acceleration expert that creates lifetime annuities of savings through his tax planning efforts and greatly improves investment performance by responsibly allocating investment capital out of the financial markets into higher performing and lower risk real estate and alternative investments.

Charlie graduated from Virginia Tech University with a B.S. in Accounting and received his M.B.A. from the College of William and Mary. He began his career at Ernst and Young (EY) and was a practicing Certified Public Accountant (CPA) for more than 20 years.
